After their return to canon in the animated series Rebels, the Imperial inquisitors they appeared in many other Star Wars works in comics and video games, also debuting in live action in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series. Next May 4th we will see them again in the animated short series Tales of the Empire, but soon we will have a work dedicated entirely to them! The arrival of Star Wars: Inquisitors
The announcement arrived on the official StarWars.com website: “Inquisitors is a new miniseries starting on July 3written by Rodney Barnes and designed by Ramon Rosanaswhich follows the Jedi Hunters of the Empire as they focus on a new objective: Tensu Runa survivor of Order 66 who wants to spread hope and rebuild the Jedi Order. He gained the attention of Darth Vaderwho is determined to kill Tensu at any cost.”
“It’s such an honor to write the first solo Inquisitor story!”. Barnes tells StarWars.com. “I love this period of Star Wars history because it’s when I grew up: when Darth Vader and the Empire imposed their will on the entire galaxy. Furthermore, I was able to create a new legendary Jedi with Tensu Run! Truly the best of times!”.
We don’t know when exactly this miniseries will be set, but a clue present on the cover you see above allows us to narrow the field. In addition to the Grand Inquisitor we see the Fifth Brother, the Seventh Sister and the Ninth Sister. Since the latter has a robotic right arm, this means we are between 14 BBY and 9 BBY. In Jedi: Fallen Order (in 14 BBY) she lost her arm in the battle with Cal Kestis, and in Jedi: Survivor (in 9 BBY) she lost much more against Cal.
