Students from Faenza, thanks to the European project “EU RIDE”, participated in the first pedal car race in Slovenia

The final meeting of the European project EU RIDE took place from 19 to 21 April “Expanding the popularity of pedal cars among young people through international networking”coordinated by the Municipality of Faenza.

The meeting was organized by the Slovenian partner APGA, the Slovenian association for the promotion of sport, based in Velenje, to give the opportunity to enhance the results obtained during the 24 months of project. APGA, with the support of a technical high school, began the production of pedal cars, with the collaboration of the technicians ofBucci Institute of Faenza and the High School of Holice (Czech Republic) and organized the first pedal car race in Slovenia, on the afternoon of Saturday 20 April.

With the occasion, approx 40 high school students from the Union of Romagna Faentinawere able to take part in this first Slovenian event, also obtaining excellent results.

The EU RIDE project, co-financed by Erasmus+ programmecomes to an end after approximately 24 months of activity and after having involved Italy, Czech Republic, France, Türkiye, Croatia, Slovenia and Portugal.

EU RIDE promoted the culture of pedal cars and their diffusion as a sporting activity in the European Union, encouraging sporting activity among young people and enhancing some key aspects derived from pedal cars, such as the open air dimension, teamwork and collaboration, creativity and complementarity of skills.
