War of the Rohirrim is the new Lord of the Rings film due out for Warner Bros in 2024, but as we approach the exact halfway point of the year updates on the project have so far been non-existent to say the least.
Thanks to the Warner Bros panel for CinemaCon, however, in these hours some important news on the animated film has finally emerged, which will bring the Lord of the Rings franchise back to the big screen for the first time since the days of The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies: during the presentation of the Warner Bros Pictures schedule, in fact, the studio reassured fans and exhibitors by confirming that The Lord of the Rings: War of the Rohirrim will be released in late holiday 2024, and that’s the good news. The bad news, unfortunately, is that not even during this new presentation did Warner Bros want to share an official release date, so we will have to wait a little longer to get this type of information.
However, the indicated window of ‘holidays 2024’ narrows the field quite a bit: no more Avatar 3 to monopolize the winter box office (James Cameron’s film was postponed to Christmas 2025) the studios will compete to conquer the Christmas audience, which is usually a very lucky period especially for animated films.
