It is the film adaptation of the 2017 novel “The cosmonaut” by Jaroslav Kalfar a new film available for streaming on Netflix for all lovers of the science fiction genre.

In this sense, Sandler’s interpretation is very incisive, showing all the drama linked to a condition of isolation and alienation from the real world and from oneself.

A film discovered on Netflix, which is certainly of interest to lovers of the genre but which, due to its profound revelations about human nature, then becomes transversal and potentially enjoyable for a wider audience.
Looking at how it was received on the Web, we can see that a few days after its streaming publication, 75% of users liked it Googlefor 50% up Rotten Tomatoes (but still with only 138 reviews) and has a rating of 5.7 out of 10 on IMDb. Lukewarm scores, but not for this reason categorical in decreeing the final judgement.
Netflix has decided to focus this time on a deep sci-fi, which involves the viewer in multiple reflections on the existence and future of all humanity. A journey into space between alien forms and mysterious settings, through a philosophical research into the meaning of life.
The trailer on Youtube in this sense it is already very explanatory, with its dark lights, the sense of emptiness and the close-ups of a man who appears lost. Not least is the role of his wife in crisis, who always represents his second choice.
Both delicate roles excellently brought to the stage by the leading actors. And in fact the plot of this film to discover on Netflix tells of a couple divided by the desire for professional ambition.
The film tells the story of a cosmonaut on a solitary mission, Jakub Procházka, from the Czech Republic, immersed in the immensity of space for 189 days to explore a mysterious cloud.
His wife Lenka, pregnant, in complete desolation and always feeling neglected, decides to leave that selfish and ambitious man.
Jakub’s condition is one of absolute solitude and, in that state, he will find himself dealing with nightmares and hallucinations, remorse and melancholy memories of love replayed through dreamlike and poetic flashbacks. The only company will be a giant black spider intent on helping him.
