Romulus, will it be necessary to know Alien and Aliens to see it?
Descriptive text here

Alien: Romulus will be set between the events of Alien and Aliens, but to enjoy the experience created by Fede Alvarez will it be necessary to have seen the two founding chapters of the franchise, directed respectively by Ridley Scott and James Cameron?

We leave the author of The House and Man in the Dark to answer this question directly, who during a recent promotional interview with The Hollywood Reporter magazine explained that Alien: Romulus is designed to entertain all fansboth long-standing ones and newcomers:

The way we accomplished it is if you haven’t seen the previous chapters, well then I’m very jealous of your situation because you will have an incredible experience. You’ll have all these different worlds of Alien coming at you and it’ll be a new experience for you if you’ve never seen the other films. You don’t know how the creature is born and you don’t know anything about anything, okay? Is fantastic. You will have a lot of fun. Instead, if you have already seen the other films, then in a way you will have a completely different experience, because you will see and find different connections with Alien and Aliens. If you are a die-hard fan of the saga, then you will be that person who annoys your friends at the cinema, telling them that you know where that gun came from and what the characters are talking about. Alien: Romulus is made this way, and the hope is that it can work equally for everyone, fans old and new. The fact is that I love all the films in the saga, and I didn’t want to leave anything out.

Alien: Romulus will be released on August 14th in Italy. For more content, check out the official Alien: Romulus rating.
