Giro d’Italia 2023: the weather forecast for the Corsa Rosa. Rain at the start, then the heat arrives?
Descriptive text here

The Giro d’Italia 2023 it will start on Saturday 6 May with an individual time trial in Abruzzo and will end on Sunday 21 May in Rome. But what are the weather conditions that the athletes in the race will have to face? The forecast are not the best for the next two weeks. Until mid-May, in fact, it seems that we will have to deal with a flow of unstable currents downhill from Northern Europe and this could result in a series of perturbations. Rains and thunderstorms could characterize the first part of the Corsa Rosa: a great good in general considering the great drought at the beginning of the year, but not the best for cyclists.

In the second part of the month, however, we could see a turning point. Experts speak of a greater interference of a promontory of the African anticyclone and so we could already enjoy a summer appetizer in conjunction with the last part of the Giro d’Italia. Temperatures could also stay around 25-26 °C during the last week of the competition, even if the athletes will be called to face the Alps where the climate could be a little different. We remind you that we are talking about long-term trends, therefore forecasts cannot be accurate in absolute terms and it will be necessary to monitor the situation day after day.
