The creepy speech by Gianluca Vialli
Two days before the final, the blues head of delegation decided to talk to the whole team in the technical center of Coverciano, quoting a piece of US President Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s speech, “The man in the arena”. Here is his full speech: “Honor belongs to the man in the arena. The man whose face is lined with dust and sweat and blood. The man who fights bravely, who fails again and again, knowing there is no feat worth this name that is free from errors and shortcomings. The man who dedicates himself entirely to the achievement of a goal, who knows how to be enthusiastic and commit himself to the end and who spends himself for a just cause. The man who, when things go well, he finally knows the triumph of great conquests and that, when things go wrong, he falls knowing he dared”.
