There’s a lot of talk about what’s next Milan coach and Stefano Pioli’s replacement for the 2024-25 seasonbut – from what I understand – there will hardly be any news or official communications between now and next 15 days. The Rossoneri club remains in a limbo of waiting and evaluation, more out of necessity than choice. In fact, there will presumably be a domino effect, even if time is running out and the responses will be available shortly. Several important coaches and clubs are involved in this situation, such as Bayern Munich and, be careful, also PSG, which could reserve surprises.

There Milan listhowever, remains narrow and limited to a handful of names. To exclude imaginative and exotic options, of little appeal and high risk. The team doesn’t need high-risk bets. Therefore I am not aware of Julen’s names LopeteguiDominic GermanMark Van Bommel, Reuben Amorim and Marco Rose. Paulo’s, however, was lukewarm Fonseca e Maurice Sarri (today more detached and – in fact – second-rate candidatures). Profiles instead of more are of interest to Milan and those who find unanimity are those of Thiago MottaLuis Enrique (should he leave PSG), Sergio Conceicao (if he manages to free himself from Porto, they are talking about it) and Roberto De Zerbi (a name that is currently more detached and in any case today bound to compliance with one exit clause that Milan does not intend to pay). These are more or less the names I mentioned to you on February 19th, with more clarity on the ‘surprise profiles’, identified to date as Conceicao and De Zerbi.

Barring any surprises, therefore, the Milan’s next coach will be one of these technicians. Much will also depend on the intentions of the PSG, still involved in the Champions League. The path and the results, in one sense or another, as I am told, could be decisive for whether or not Luis Enrique is reconfirmed in Paris. If so, watch out for the intersection Thiago Motta-PSG and Luis Enrique-Milan. The Spaniard had already been explored by Milan last year and this year he could get back in the running and compete with them Conceicaoeven if – as mentioned – Milan’s Plan A he remains the current coach of Bologna. To date, however, the possibilities seem to be on the rise Massimiliano Allegri can stay to Juventus. As we have already written, it is a lively and very fluid coaching market, which could soon generate a chain effect.
