Last Saturday during the Naples Pride 2024 procession an unpleasant episode occurred. One of the protagonists on her social profile tells the story.
Dora and Anna (fictitious names), while the procession was crossing Via Toledo, were playing with two water pistols splashing some passers-by, two annoyed sisters attacked them both physically and verbally with homophobic insults. When the procession stopped in Piazza Carità, the two sisters showed up again with their parents and resumed the attack using helmets and pulling the two girls’ hair.
A police car patrolling the procession intervened, stopping and identifying those responsible for the attack. The two attacked then went to hospital where they were found to have a head injury with a prognosis of 7 days and finally headed to the police station. I am now in contact with the legal office of Antinoo Arcigay Napoli which will support them throughout the procedural process, also considering joining as a civil party.
