Naples, car and motorbike collide: 36-year-old dies

The head-on collision between a Range Rover driven by a 21-year-old young man originally from Cerignola (Foggia) and a Piaggio Cruiser motorcycle, driven by a 36-year-old Neapolitan man, which occurred yesterday evening in Naples just before 10pm, resulted in death of the motorcyclist. The impact occurred in via S. Ignazio di Loyola, at number 188. In the impact, the motorcycle remained stuck under the front left part of the Range Rover, causing the motorcyclist to be thrown onto the road surface. The driver of the Range Rover promptly alerted the emergency services. The 118 personnel, who arrived on site, could not help but confirm the death of the motorcyclist. The Road Accident Operational Unit of the Local Police of Naples intervened at the accident site to carry out the necessary technical investigations. The driver of the Range Rover was subjected to toxicological tests, while the motorcyclist’s body was made available to the judicial authorities. Both vehicles involved were seized. Investigations are underway to reconstruct the exact dynamics of the accident. The Local Police – it is underlined – continues to engage in the protection of road safety and the prevention of accidents, through constant and targeted checks in the area.
