After his farewell to Palermo Leandro Rinaudo held a press conference this morning releasing the following words:
«The first year we gave a bit of continuity to those who did well in Serie C. Then we realized that we needed to bring in players who could make up for 30,000 Palermo fans and the objective was not achieved. Why does only Rinaduo pay? I’m not the first and I won’t be the last, I’ve lived football for many years and made sacrifices. Sometimes it feels like you come home and your mind is on what you do. I see the glass as half full because this experience gave me the opportunity to grow and understand how the system lives. I’m focused on what my next destination will be. I believe that Gardini and Bigon are expert managers and if they have chosen this way I accept it with the utmost serenity. I know that when someone works hard, sooner or later something negative comes back, I have no regrets and I want to underline that I will be a fan. More than me, I believe that few have Palermo inside them, this respect for the love for Palermo will never end”
«I think moments of nervousness and excitement are normal, we all experience them. I challenge any person to say that there are no good and bad moments. I think that the sports center has provided an important plus. there was an atmosphere of great professionalism but the difference with the favorite is evident. the players have to experience the city more, this serves to make them understand where they are. The change from Boccadifalco to turret made it a little confusing due to the difference in environment because you live for a whole week in a sort of resort, this had an impact but the sports center is something wonderful. The change of environment has had an impact because we experience a quieter week than in Boccadifalco.”
