LATINA – From 1st to 21st July 196 men and women, 40 matches. Arena with grandstand, LED wall, mini basketball, food area. The Italy World Games parade is also scheduled for tomorrow.
Everything is ready. Starting tomorrow, the 1st City of Latina Trophy – Basket in the Square will be a double-header. Event that brings back to the center and the great evenings of the ball in segments, in the wake of the long tradition of the Pontine capital. In Piazza del Popolo, under the Intendenza di Finanza, three weeks of basketball, on the Junior (12-15 years) and Senior pitch, generation of basketball players compared in 40 games in total, two every evening (7 and 9 pm).
On the opening day there was an important presence, such as that of the Minister for Sport and Youth Andrea Abodi, who will speak at the team presentation ceremony tomorrow.
We start tomorrow with the Junior Globaltel – Basket del Golfo challenge and for the Seniors Generali Assicurazioni – Turi Rizzo.
The program includes, between the Junior and Senior matches, the parade of the football teams of the World Italy Games, an international tournament (seven nations from four continents represented) created by the former Serie A football referee Claudio Gavillucci.
Piazza del Popolo will be the center of gravity of the sport, with hundreds of athletes, protagonists in a real sports village open to all. Around the main field, grandstand, mini-basketball field, food area and a ledwall that will liven up the evenings.

Six teams in a single Italian group for the Juniors, two groups of four teams for the Seniors. The first qualifying phase will determine the first four Junior teams that advance to the semi-finals (5th-6th place final for the last two) and the grid from the quarter-finals onwards for the Senior teams. According to the scoreboard, the top two teams in the group will not be able to meet again, except directly in the final.
Roster of 14 players, including 4 female players. In each quarter of the game as per the regulations, the division of the players into green, yellow (according to category for Seniors/age for Juniors) and red (use of players) bands will be respected. On the pitch it is possible to employ players from national categories (From A1 to U 17 Etc), regional categories (From C to Under 19 Silver), non-registered players and former players. There will be no shortage of names who have left their mark on important pages of city basketball, bringing prestige at a national level.

Based on the draw, the eight Senior teams were divided into two groups of four.
