The Ferrara skater Mirko Rimessi, standard bearer of the Palestra Ginnastica Ferrara, won the sporting event together with his teammates 24 Hours of Le Mans Roller.

In the special ranking, dedicated to traditional skates, it was also surpassed the previous record of the event. The Italian team closed the test with 157 laps, for a total of 657km covered. The Italian team, called ‘Quad Sk8 Team’ was composed of a selection of skaters who remained tied to the tradition of quad skating.

The list of the Italian skaters The team included Michela Borghi and Luca Bagnolini from Bologna, Dario Boiani and Simone Lodovici from Pesaro, Andrea Franceschini from Mondolfo, in the province of Pesaro and Urbino, Luca Abbruciati from Senigallia, in the province of Ancona, Paolo Sbaffi from Santa Maria Nuova, in the province of Ancona, Alberto Cambio from San Severino Marche, in the province of Macerata, Javier Gonzalez from Cuba, and indeed Mirko Rimessi from Ferrara.

The Estense athlete is entered the formation at the last minutealmost on a bet, to replace an injured member. On a bet because Rimessi had not skated with traditional skates for thirty years, having experienced the transition to the ‘rollerblade’ skate as a very young athlete. The team, which also came in twelfth in the overall ranking, preceded the other Italian team in the race, composed of Sicilian athletes led by world champion Pino Cortese. Closing out the podium was a French team.

The occasion also served to strengthen relations in view of the next edition of the International Labor Trophy ‘City of Ferrara’, scheduled annually on 1 May in Piazza Ariostea, again through the organization of the Palestra Ginnastica Ferrara, and destined for next year to cross the finish line of 66 editions. Remessi wanted dedicate the victory to his first coach Paolo Campi, who passed away two years ago, and who was a member of the team that held the previous record (149 laps), set when they won the competition in 2018.
