Leo Turrinia well-known Formula 1 journalist, commented to Race Anatomy and on your blog Deep red the performance of the Ferrari at the Austrian GP.
Turrini’s opinion
This is the analysis of the Sky commentator: “The Ferrari has never been in contention for victorynot even after the Verstappen-Norris clash.”
“AND melancholically emblematic than on a Sunday in which a Red Bull and a McLaren are fighting each other take advantage of it is a MercedesRussell’s (and not Sir Lewis’s, eh)”.
“She didn’t show up not even remotely a progression in performance. Indeed, the very strong suspicion is that the technical solutions adopted are not producing positive effects. Unfortunately, it’s a story that’s been told very, very often.”
“Ferrari, where are you going? Sorry, I don’t have an answer. Vasseur and his engineers have the task of finding it. Quickly, perhaps.” he commented Turrini.
It’s no secret that the 2024 season is not going as Ferrari expectedmuch less wanted to, after the Monte Carlo GP.
That great result on the streets of Monaco had deceived the environment and the fansaddressing discourses related to world title.
Three races away from the one in the principality, the Reds are called to watch their backsrather than dreaming big: McLaren is getting closer in the standings and is more competitive on the trackthus posing a major threat to the constructors’ championship.
In short, as stated by Leo Turrini, in Maranello there is a need – desperate, I would add – for answers. The nightmare called “we’re trying to understand”which has become Mattia Binotto’s motto in recent years, seems to have returned to Ferrari; with the hope that this time the understanding will be quick and effective.
