From tomorrow to Wednesday, traffic on both carriageways with opposite directions will be suspended in via Canaletto sud, in the stretch between via Finzi and via Gorrieri.

The provision was made necessary to allow work on a sewer line and an underground telephone line serving the new Esselunga building under construction. The recommended alternative route for those coming from via delle Suore is via Canaletto sud, via Montessori, via Montalcini, via Attiraglio and via Canaletto sud. For those coming from via Montessori, however, we recommend the route along via Fanti and via Canaletto sud. Parking will be prohibited in the vicinity and correspondence of the works, with removal, and the maximum speed limit allowed in the area will be 30 kilometers per hour.

Esselunga’s development plan includes the redevelopment of the former Consorzio Agrario with the construction, by the private individual, in the area between Via Fanti and Via Canaletto of a sales structure with a maximum surface area of 2,500 square meters that will open by the end of the year, a multi-storey car park with approximately 300 parking spaces that will be handed over to the Municipal Administration (the construction site has already started), a park and public green areas, as well as a residential area with 174 apartments, cycle/pedestrian paths, additional car parks and road infrastructure serving the area, including a connecting road between Via Canaletto and Via Rita Levi Montalcini. As part of Esselunga’s intervention, the construction of the roundabout between Via Romania and Viale Finzi is also currently underway. The project also includes a 3-meter wide cycle/pedestrian path, starting south of Via Francia, on the east side of Via Romania, which will continue south, flank the new roundabout and eastward will connect to the path created by the Municipality as part of the Bando periferie project and which currently ends just south of where Via Finzi makes a 90-degree curve before the underpass of the ring road; in addition to the work to adapt and secure the public transport stops in Via Finzi and Via Romania, ensuring a waiting area for users.

In the area of the former Agricultural Consortium, however, the construction of two public residential buildings for 30 homes, half of which are intended for young people, is the responsibility of the municipality and entrusted to the urban transformation company Cambiamo spa (the construction site was handed over in January) and a further building with 15 accommodations intended for the police.l
