Mondo Convenienza, €35 million for new Palermo store
Mondo Convenienza, the well-known chain of furniture stores, has announced the opening of a new store in Palermo. This new opening represents a significant investment of approximately 35 million euros in the Sicilian territory and will offer job opportunities to over one hundred new collaborators.
The new shop, located in Viale della Regione Sicilia northwest 4740, will have a surface area of over 3,500 m2 and will employ a total of 147 collaborators, including salespeople and managers. Of these, 117 will be women, including the store manager. All new collaborators have been prepared by Mondo Convenienza through 61,000 hours of specific training courses.
In addition to the store staff, the opening of the new store will involve the employment of an additional 230 resources, including direct employees and service companies, for the delivery, assembly and handling of goods at the warehouse in Via Ercole in Carini. This will allow Mondo Convenienza to give continuity to its growth and expansion strategy in Sicily, where it has already been present since 2014 in Catania and, more recently, also with ministores in Palermo.
The new point sale will be equipped with cutting-edge technological solutions to make the customer’s shopping experience pleasant and fluid. The salespeople will be equipped with tablets to accompany customers in choosing products in the showroom and high-resolution PCs for designing personalized environments. In addition, the store will have rapid self-service checkouts to speed up the purchasing process.
In compliance with the principles of architecture sustainable, the entire property was designed with particular attention to the environment. There will be electric charging stations and a 125 kWp photovoltaic system to produce clean energy and reduce consumption and waste. This commitment demonstrates Mondo Convenienza’s desire to actively contribute to environmental protection.
