The 33rd edition of the Montemurlo Historical Parade through the streets of Oste was a success, returning this year to its traditional location at the end of June.
Many people along the parade route greeted the passing of the participants, the flag-wavers, the musicians, the ladies of the Giovanni Dalle Bande Nere Company of Florence, the Company of the Signoria of Florence, the Company of Valcento of Prato, the historical group of Carmignano, the valets of the Municipality of Prato, the historical group of Valmarina of Calenzano, the stilt walkers and the historical group of Montemurlo. Representatives of local authorities and institutions also paraded. A commemorative parchment was delivered to Nadine Natalin Alvarez Lasos, a student of the 5D graphics department of the Umberto Brunelleschi Art High School, accompanied by the vice principal, Sinforosa Petrocelli, who created the poster for the 33rd edition of the Corteggio. Two plaques went to Claudia Tomei for her 25 years in the Historical Group and to Antonella Biagini who reached the milestone of 31 years of activity and commitment in the Corteggio activities. The horse Yesse-w, a Friesian breed horse who for 21 years accompanied the first knight of the Order of Valleverde di Bovino, Carmine Visconti, in his performances both at the Corteggio storico di Montemurlo and at the celebrations of the Madonna di Valleverde in Bovino, said goodbye to the Montemurlo public and officially retired. He is now enjoying a well-deserved rest.
