Modena, 29 June 2024 – 16-Year-Old Boy Beaten Bloody Over Cell Phone and headphones. Robbed in the historic center of Modena by a pack of very young robbers: five against one. This is generation Z: the one that today more than ever ‘feeds on violence’. Mayor Massimo Mezzettiafter the appeal launched by a mother on our pages following the attack suffered by her son in recent days, contacted the woman to express solidarity, specifying that if necessary it will also make psychologists from municipal offices available for the student. The woman filed a complaint and now the police officers are investigating to trace those responsible for the beating.
Meanwhile it emerges another story of violence among very young people this time in the province. A boy was invited to a ‘Live’ on Instagram: they wanted to beat him to a pulp, but live. When the young man refused, the ‘rivals’ reached him at home, in the garage. Three of them beat him with extreme ferocity and then grabbed a shovel and hit him on the head and back, seriously injuring him. The gang stopped only because a neighbor started screaming. The latest and most disconcerting episode occurred last June 1st in the Apennines. The victim’s mother (a 21-year-old boy) recounted the incident, saying she was “shocked and alarmed by what happened to her son, who was beaten to a pulp for no reason”. In fact, the boy’s ‘fault’ is that of being friends with another young man in the town, ex-boyfriend of the girlfriend of one of the three attackers: the three are 18, 19 and 20 years old. Residents of Serramazzoni, a complaint was obviously filed against them and investigations are now underway by the police. “My son was in the garage doing his things – says the woman – The three had contacted him on Instagram shortly before: they had beaten his friend, among other things on crutches after an accident, because in the past he had had a relationship with the current girlfriend of one of the three attackers. The fact is that my son, on Instagram, had ‘allowed himself’ to defend him by stating to one of the three young men, whom he didn’t even know: ‘Instead of taking it out on him, who also has crutches, blame me.” “The band at that point – continues the mother – invited him to join them to take part in a ‘live’: a live broadcast on social media to beat him up in front of their ‘audience’. My son obviously declined the invitation but after a while they showed up at the house. One held his hand, with which my son was introducing himself, and the others started beating him bloody. One of them then grabbed the shovel and massacred him: a blow on the head, five centimeters from the eye and on the back. The risk was to really hurt him and for free. An absurd thing. We immediately reported it to the police but they continued to threaten him, so much so that for several evenings we did not sleep a wink, fearing their return.”
