He is suspected of having threatened a woman near Rennes station and of having raped her after stealing money. The man will be referred to the prosecution. He is unfavorably known to the courts.
According to a press release from the Prosecutor in Rennes, Philippe Astruc, a 23-year-old man from Mayotte was taken into police custody.
According to the facts specified by the prosecution, “On June 27 at around 5:20 a.m., a young woman who was returning from dropping someone off at the station got back into her vehicle. At that moment, a young man, born in 2001 in Mayotte, got into her vehicle, threatened her and initially forced her to withdraw money from the ATM.”
But the man will take the vehicle again with his victim to head outside Rennes.
Still according to the prosecution, the man will “force her to have sexual relations before returning to the vehicle in Rennes where he dropped her off before leaving in the victim’s vehicle.
