PISA. Improve safety and liveability in the station area, combating situations of disturbance to the urban peace that can arise from a state of alteration due to alcohol abuse and limiting the possession of glass containers (glasses and bottles) which can be used as blunt objects. This is the objective of the ordinance signed in recent days by Mayor Michele Conti which prohibits, from 4pm to midnight every day until 18th August, the takeaway sale of alcoholic beverages and spirits in minimarkets, neighborhood businesses and vending machines in the following streets and public areas: square della Stazione, viale Gramsci, via Mascagni, via Corridoni (from piazza della Stazione to via Colombo), via Colombo, via Puccini, via Vespucci (from via Puccini to via Colombo), viale Bonaini (from viale Gramsci to via Colombo), via Queirolo and Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II. In the same areas and times, the consumption of alcoholic beverages and spirits of any strength in public areas and spaces is also prohibited, with the exception of that carried out in public establishments and their appurtenances; the administration of drinks, alcoholic and non, in glass containers, outside and in the pertinences of public establishments; the sale for takeaway of drinks, alcoholic and non, in glass containers.

Violators are subject to a fine of 25 to 500 euros. In case of recurrence of violations, the business will be closed for 5 to 15 days. From midnight to 6am every day, the national provisions set out in the art. are in force. 54 of Law 120/2010 which prohibits owners and managers of neighborhood businesses from selling alcoholic beverages and spirits to take away from midnight to 6 am.
