Change at the top of the Industrial Union of Asti. This morning, during the assembly of the association held at the SKF Seals plant in Villanova, the new president Luigi Costa was elected, designated candidate to succeed Andrea Amalberto, who left the position after almost six years and who increasingly insistent rumors, confirmed again today, give ever closer to the leadership of Confindustria Piemonte.
The presentation of the new president took place during the public meeting, followed by the private session open to the members, in which numerous authorities participated – primarily the Minister of the Environment and Energy Security Gilberto Pichetto Fratin – and representatives of the economic and trade union world from Asti. Entitled “The person at the center of sustainable development. The value of the company”, included, in addition to the greetings of Andrea Amalberto and Luigi Costa, also the speech of the Minister Pichetto Fratin, the president and CEO of SKF Industrie Spa Aldo Cedrone and the vice president of Lavazza Group Marco Lavazza.
Following the roundtable on the theme of the day which saw the participation, in addition to Amalberto and Costa, also of the bishop Marco Prastaro, the president of Confindustria Piemonte Marco Gay, the managing director of Banca di Asti Carlo Demartini and the regional councilor for Transport Marco Gabusi. The conclusions of the work, however, were drawn by Lara Ponti, vice president of Confindustria.

The words of the new president

Costa, who will turn 55 on 12 July, is the owner of “Mista Spa”, a company that produces electrical contacts, blanked and welded parts and thermoplastic products for the most important manufacturers of car components, household appliances and low-power electricity. With headquarters and factory in Cortiglione, it also has a production site in Tunisia.
“In these four years – he stated this morning – I will work, with my team, colleagues and the structure of the Industrial Union, to carry out projects and stimulate ideas in terms of innovation, digitalisation and sustainability, the latter being a theme at the center of the today’s meeting, as human capital represents the value of the company. As my predecessor underlined in the final report, in fact, it will increasingly be the resource to which we dedicate attention, so much so that investing in this direction will be fundamental.
Furthermore – he concluded – I will try to strengthen relations with the institutions and political, economic and social organizations of the territory”.
