Bari, Torre Quetta area: Costa Sud works have started

The city of Bari continues to change its face: work has started on lot 2 of Costa Sud, a project that will revolutionize the seafront that connects the city center with the Torre a Mare district. An epochal change for the Apulian capital which will cause inevitable inconveniences to road traffic: the works have forced the narrowing of the roadway on the Cagno Abbrescia seafront, near the Torre Quetta railway stop. The ordinance issued by the administration will expire on November 30th: the limitations will therefore last throughout the summer, making the journey more difficult for thousands of people from Bari ready to enjoy the summer on the Torre Quetta beach.

The second lot of Costa Sud also includes the extension of the beach, reaching Pane e Pomodoro, as well as the redevelopment of the area and the creation of cycle and pedestrian paths. Reaching the sea during the next few months will not be easy also due to the construction site managed by Acquedotto Pugliese which has slowed down traffic on Via Gentile, a long artery that connects the Japigia district with Torre a Mare. The intervention, which concerns the creation of the new “pressure conduit”, should be completed by September. It promises to be a summer full of traffic for the people of Bari who love to frequent the city beaches.
