Benevento Feast of Our Lady of Grace, stop selling drinks in glass or cans

A union ordinance has been signed which prohibits the removal of glass or canned drinks during the celebrations

Benevento, 28 June 2024 – Mayor Clemente Mastella, in light of the findings of the technical roundtable that took place at the Benevento Police Headquarters, signed an ordinance with which he prohibits the takeaway of glass or canned drinks on the occasion of celebrations in honor of the Madonna delle Grazie (30 June-3 July 2024).

Therefore, in the urban perimeter affected by the celebrations viale S. Lorenzo, corso Dante, via Posillipo, corso Vittorio Emanuele, Via Torre della Catena up to the intersection with Port’Arsa and related neighboring streets, piazza Risorgimento which is an area identified for the amusement park, it is prohibited, for the entire duration of the celebrations, to sell drinks of any kind in glass bottles and/or metal cans; instead, they must be sold or served in special disposable cups.

The ban applies to the owners of public food and drink establishments, to retail sales establishments, including those of a temporary and itinerant nature, as well as to artisans who carry out takeaway sales and is also extended to establishments that sell drinks. by means of devices and/or automatic dispensers for which the owners will have to take appropriate measures to suspend the activity.

Without prejudice to the sanctions provided by law or regulation, failure to comply with the provisions of this Ordinance is punishable by a fine of between 25 and 500 euros. The measure is motivated by needs related to the protection of public and private safety and by the aim of preventing situations of prejudice to urban decorum, neglect and degradation.
