ROSETO. Three boys, one adult and two minors, of the 40 involved in the huge brawl on the Celommi seafront in Roseto, which took place last Tuesday at around 11 pm between the La Lucciola establishment and the Marisella beach resort, have been reported. They are an 18-year-old boy and two others, aged 17 and 16, all Egyptians and residents of L’Aquila, who the Carabinieri of Roseto have reported for the crime of brawling, the adult to the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Teramo and the two minors to the Juvenile Court Prosecutor’s Office of L’Aquila. The military were able to identify them because the three boys, after the brawl, went to the emergency room in Giulianova, where they were treated and deemed curable with a prognosis of between 10 and 20 days.
Further investigations are underway by the Carabinieri of the Roseto station, coordinated by the judicial authority, to trace the reasons for the brawl and to identify the other participants. The big brawl, which involved 40 people armed with bars and belts, started on the beach of the La Lucciola lido, where at that moment there was a security guard, Sandro Arrighetti, who says: «I saved a Moroccan boy. There were also Egyptians and locals. Two boys pounced on him and hit him with a beach bed, breaking his head. I got there and these guys ran away. Some of them still bleeding got into a van, which then went towards Pescara.”
The mayor also has his say on the episode Mario Nugnes. «In my opinion», specifies Nugnes, «we should neither create alarmism nor minimize it. The alarm of citizens and bathers was received by the administration and the police, and the commissioner assured me that from July 1st there will be greater controls in the area”. The local Democratic Party also intervenes on the matter, recalling how, during the previous administration, the video surveillance system was implemented, and launching proposals to improve security in the city, without neglecting criticism. «It is unacceptable that prominent figures such as Pavone and Marcone, currently in government of the city with the Nugnes administration, voted against the construction of the new police station during our mandate, thus demonstrating that security is not among their priorities» , we read in the note from the Democratic Party, «we believe that safety is a problem that cannot be postponed. Therefore, the promotion to the tenancy of the local Carabinieri station is an urgent and necessary step, and we also propose the use of the Prusst Monti premises, currently unused, as an additional and temporary headquarters for the Carabinieri”.
