Novara: relocation underway for the fire brigade command

As reported by the Corriere di Novara, the first trucks began to arrive last Wednesday, under the supervision of the commander Paolo Cortese, who is personally following all the operations. «We started with the transfer of the “back office” activities and little by little, as the premises are ready (in some the final finishing touches are being finalised), we will proceed with the rest of the offices».

Precisely to allow the personnel to carry out the transfer operations, from Wednesday 26 June to Friday 28 June inclusive, the Secretariat, Contraventions and Accidents Offices of the Local Police Command remained closed to the public.

«It will take another couple of weeks to open them to the public – Cortese anticipates – In this period of time, for emergencies you can still go to the headquarters in via Alberto da Giussano».

The new headquarters and timing

The new headquarters of the Command is in the premises that until a few years ago had housed the Chinese restaurant, completely renovated. “I must say that, although obviously my dream always remains that of an independent headquarters, this renovation was carried out in a truly optimal manner – says Cortese – Now we have comfortable and modern spaces available, both to allow the staff to work at their best and for the public. Definitely a whole other thing compared to the former Tav field … Among other things, the work has guaranteed us a very efficient headquarters also from the technological and economic sustainability point of view, a latest generation internet network, air conditioning and heating systems made according to home automation criteria, modern lighting … “.

Overall, the final move will take, as mentioned, another fifteen days: the last things to move will be the power plant and the vehicles. “We expect to be able to open to the public on Monday, July 15,” Cortese concludes.
