PESCARA. The second summer weekend marks 17 cities with the orange dot. Among these cities is Pescara. The Ministry of Health’s bulletin on heat waves reports, for Saturday, the heat risk at the highest levels for the most fragile segment of the population. A forecast confirmed by meteorologists, who estimate, again for the weekend, maximum temperatures of over 40 degrees in the South, a good 10 degrees above the average for the period. On a scale from 0 (green dot, no heat risk) to 3 (red dot, maximum risk for the entire population), with level 1 or yellow dot signaling a pre-alert for a possible heat wave, cities with the level 2 orange dot suddenly goes to 17 due, as meteorologists point out, “to the comeback of the African anticyclone”.
I urban centers affected by this heat wave, out of the 27 taken into consideration by the ministry, are Ancona, Bologna, Bolzano, Brescia, Campobasso, Catania, Florence, Frosinone, Latina, Palermo, Perugia, PescaraRieti, Rome, Trieste, Verona and Viterbo. A Chieti 37 degrees are expected.
THE ADVICES. To better deal with this new heat wave, the advice from the Ministry of Health, in particular for the more fragile population, is: avoid exposing yourself to high temperatures from 11am to 6pm, don’t frequent particularly busy areas, bathe often with fresh water, ensure adequate air exchange with natural ventilation, use the air conditioner correctly. It is also suggested to follow a light diet and to pay attention to the conservation of medicines.
