Tomorrow and Sunday the Italian Individual Overall Championships will be staged in La Spezia with many of the protagonists who in a few weeks will be fighting for a prestigious result at the Paris Olympics. Also competing are many big yellow-blue players who have achieved qualification thanks to their performances during these months, but also thanks to the Challenge two weeks ago in which they placed themselves in useful positions for access to the Italians themselves.

Relays, but not only on the track

The relays have always been a source of great satisfaction, but also of medals for the Brotherhood on these occasions. The two days in La Spezia will be no exception with the men’s 4×100 and the women’s 4×400 warming up their engines in search of something important. Some of the protagonists of the two quartets will also be competing at an individual level starting with Andrei Zlatan and Mouhamed Pouye in the 100 meters where the list of accreditations is led by the Italians Melluzzo and Rigali in the absence of their teammates Jacobs, Tortu, Ali and Patta. In the women’s competition, however, Emanuela Casadei is immediately behind the big names theoretically fighting for the podium. Also looking for a good performance are Lucy Omovbe in the shot put and Jacopo Mussi in the pole vault, while Enrico Montanari is looking for a spark in a season that brought him three centimeters from the personal best achieved a year ago on the occasion of the Italian Under 23 title.

Menghi back in competition in the Decathlon
Finally, a few days after his fourth place among the Under 23s, Yoro Menghi returns to the competition for a two-day event dedicated to the Decathlon in which he aims to improve his performance and, perhaps, challenge his personal best again in the specialty that would allow him to compete for another valuable placing.

Regional titles for students in Castelfranco
