Cocaine Dealing in Taranto: Police Arrest Two Men

The Police arrested two men from Taranto, aged 55 and 51, suspected of possession of narcotics for the purpose of dealing. The operation was conducted by the Falcons of the Flying Squad thanks to constant control of the territory, which detected an unusual coming and going of young cocaine users from a building in Via Mazzini.

The officers immediately suspected a 55-year-old known repeat offender, resident in the building, who was habitually involved in drug dealing. After several days of stakeout, the officers managed to enter the apartment taking advantage of a quiet moment. An accomplice of the suspect, a 51-year-old Taranto resident with no criminal record, opened the door without paying attention to who was entering, thus facilitating the police raid.

During the search, 18 pre-packaged doses of cocaine and another 7 grams of the same substance in stone were found, along with the necessary packaging. On the 55-year-old, 23 more doses of cocaine were found, a mini-cell phone and over 200 euros in cash, considered the proceeds of the illicit activity.

The two were arrested and the documents were forwarded to the competent Judicial Authority. The 55-year-old was taken to the local prison, while his accomplice was placed under house arrest.
