“No to staff leasing at Princes”

The FLAI CGIL Secretariat of Foggia together with the FLAI RSU have been expressing concern for several monthsalready communicated to the Princes company management in several meetings for the Foggia plant, from which many workers in this land base their economic and social emancipation.

To the company management we reiterate our opposition to the use of staff leasing in this historical momentwhere the plant is experiencing a transition phase towards new buyers, namely Newlat, which does not use this tool in its production plants.

We believe that using staff leasing means further precarious workers who have already been employed on seasonal contracts for some timealready limiting with respect to a true stabilization of male and female workers.

Like Flai Cgil we ask to start a process of direct stabilization by Princes of the workersso that greater professionalism can be brought into the company by involving all interested parties and qualitative and productive growth can be achieved as a common goal.

Furthermore, for more than a year the RSUs have been negotiating to conclude a second-level agreement that was foreseen a meal voucher, the reclassification of staff, a bonus for objectives and the start of a stabilization process at the companyThe company unilaterally interrupted the negotiations, informing the RSU of the suspension as they are awaiting the transfer of the company.

We believe that there was sufficient time to conclude the second level contract, avoiding workers from losing economic redistribution. After a short time the company informs us that the workers, who are entitled to use the company canteen, will instead have to pay 1 euro. As Flai Cgil, in several meetings we have reiterated that the canteen is a right which, when it is established, belongs to everyone without distinction and must be recognized not only for day workers but also for shift workers.

Given all this, we believe that there are many difficulties in accepting a choice that creates precariousness and does not stabilize, which discriminates and does not guarantee equal rights to everyone.

We therefore ask to stop the choice to launch the staff leasing tool and to reactivate the table for second level bargaining, to guarantee rights and protections for workers. To this end, we ask for an urgent meeting with the company management on the issues set out above.
