Everything is now ready for the 15th edition of the Taranto Athlete Award, an award ceremony for sporting excellence created by Roberto De Lorenzo.
To decide the winners for 2024, the jury (in the photo) met yesterday, composed of Roberto Orlando, Christian Cesario, Dario Gallitelli, Alessandro Blasi, Franco Villani, Luca Balasco and Roberta Di Gregorio.
The novelty this year is the extension of the award beyond the regional borders. The categories chosen have been divided into three sections dedicated to the champions from Taranto, those from Puglia and those from Italy who have distinguished themselves in national and international competitions. In addition to the usual ten main awards, awards have also been given to managers, coaches, Paralympic athletes and emerging athletes deserving of praise.
They will be joined by athletes from the Armed Forces sports groups, designated directly by the respective Commands.
The winners of the Taranto Athlete Award 2024 will receive communications directly from the secretariat of the cultural association Triumphalia, promoter of the event (presentation on August 19).
The awards ceremony, sponsored as every year by the Municipality of Taranto, the Province and the Puglia Region, as well as by Sport e Salute, will be held on August 21, 2024 in the Petty Officers’ School “Mariscuola”, ‘thanks to the close collaboration with the Southern Maritime Command of the Navy of Taranto’ explain the organizers.
