For the first time in 111 years of history, the Tour de France will start in Italy, with the three initial stages crossing Tuscany, Emilia-Romagna and Piedmont.

Faenza is also protagonist with a series of events including the exhibition “Faenza, Faience, bicycles towards the Tour de France” underway at the Palazzo del Podestà, enriched by a series of appointments and meetings, to precede the passage of the Gran Boucle which will be Sunday 30 June.

Cycling is also at the center of attention of the Panathlon Club Faenza which has organized a special evening dedicated to it with guests Raffaele Babini race director and race judge, Manuele Tarozzi young and emerging cyclist Manfredo, professional since 2022 who has just finished his first pink race, Renato Laghi, professional cyclist from 1967 to 1979 and the municipal councilor for tourism Simona Sangiorgi, welcomed by the president of Panathlete Giovanni Mingazzini.

“A great commitment, the result of teamwork” said Councilor Sangiorgi speaking of the initiatives organized for the passage of the Tour which “is an investment for the territory and an extraordinary tool for tourism promotion”.

Concepts reiterated and underlined by Raffaele Babini, a great expert in the sector who saw him as a protagonist first as an amateur cyclist, stopped in his transition to professionalism by an injury, but then above all as a race judge and race director so much so that he became part of the staff of the race direction in sporting events of major international interest.
