«The senator Mario Turco last May 22nd he submitted a question for oral response in the commission to the Ministers of Economy and Finance, Infrastructure and Transport, Business and Made in Italy and Labor and Social Policies, in order to obtain clarifications regarding the industrial reorganization currently underway at Leonardo SpA, present in Puglia with three divisions: aerostructures between Grottaglie (Taranto) and Foggia, helicopters in Brindisi and defence electronics in Taranto – explains Cassese – It is urgent that the Ministers in question respond to the workers as soon as possible: productive diversification is possible. At the same time, some positive results have been obtained, thanks to the determination of workers, unions and politicians, as well as thanks to investments in certain innovative programs. I hope – continues the Grottaglie municipal councilor – a continuous commitment from all parties involved to guarantee the stability and economic growth of the Grottaglie site. To overcome the difficulties of the moment, as already declared to the Sepac Committee, in my speech, at the meeting last 17 June, it is necessary to prepare the drafting of a Two-year economic plan (2024/2025). Without it we could find ourselves facing a path in the dark, where the IGC would have a greater impact.”
“The same Municipality of Grottaglie must demand the drafting of this business plan, to guarantee the saturation of workloads in the plant, but also for the protection of related industries and to confirm local employment in the long term.
