Reggio Calabria, trip to the construction site of the new luxury hotel

As already announced in recent days, in 2026 will open to Reggio Calabria a new luxurious hotel of the Mercure. The hotel will be located in a strategic place as it is right at the entrance to the Calopinace slip roads (sea side), and therefore the airport can be easily reached in just 10 minutes; it is very close to the central station of Reggio Calabria, also very close to the Palace of Justice and the Granillo Stadium, as well as being close to the main shopping street of the city, therefore just the Corso Garibaldi.

But where exactly will this large hotel be built? Many are wondering, so we went to photograph the construction site where the work is underway. The hotel, in fact, will be born in a large historic building located in the center of Reggio Calabria and precisely at the crossroads between via Galvani And via San Pietro in the cross the railway workers in front of the railway offices, a a few meters from Largo Calopinace and therefore from the beginning – south side – of Corso Garibaldi, precisely. The Mercure Reggio Calabria it will be spread over five floors and will make 89 rooms available to travellers, divided into different types to satisfy every need: Suites, Junior Suites /Family Room, Premium and Standard. The hotel’s proposal will also include a conference center with capacity for up to 200 people, a wellness center with a suggestive salt room, a rooftop with swimming pool also open to residents, a lounge area with bar service and a restaurant on the first floor featuring from a splendid terrace.
