During the activity carried out in the province in the last week, 7 people were arrested, 44 reported as being at liberty and 13 reported for personal use of narcotic substances.
During the week, the State Police carried out checks in the capital and in the municipalities of Gela and Niscemi as part of the consolidated module called Integrated Territorial Control. The services, arranged by the Police Commissioner Pinuccia Albertina Agnello, were carried out in the streets and squares of the historic center and in some peripheral areas of the three municipalities, where there are most critical issues and which require a more visible presence of the police forces. The checks were carried out with the use of crews from the Crime Prevention Departments, supported by policemen from the General Prevention and Public Rescue Office of the capital and by crews from the Territorial Control Offices of the Public Security Police Stations of Gela and Niscemi.
Specifically, the aforementioned areas of the three cities were the subject of dynamic patrols and checkpoints in order to act as a deterrent, especially for predatory crimes which more frequently involve pedestrians and cars.
In Caltanissetta the State Police crews carried out various checkpoints identifying 720 people, of which 145 tested positive in the Interforce Data Bank, and 360 vehicles; 125 checks were carried out on those under special surveillance, under house arrest and subjected to other anti-crime measures; 15 traffic violations were reported and 7 personal and home searches were carried out. 2 people, a 38 year old and a 30 year old, were both arrested for the crime of stalking. However, another 4 people were reported to the Judicial Authority for the crimes of complicity in robbery, personal injury and damage respectively.
In Gela there were 920 people identified, of which 211 were subject to police prejudice, and 345 vehicles. There were 193 checks on those under special surveillance and under house arrest; 28 traffic violations were detected, 11 people were reported to the Prefecture for personal use of narcotic substances, while 15 searches were carried out with the seizure of cocaine, hashish and marijuana. During the activity, 4 people were arrested for domestic abuse, possession of narcotics, home burglary and escape. Finally, 30 people were reported to the Judicial Authority for crimes against property, of which 6 were reported for energy theft, as part of specific checks carried out in collaboration with Enel teams.
Finally, in Niscemi, 568 people and 263 vehicles were identified; 18 high traffic violations and 2 people reported to the Prefecture for personal use of narcotics. 174 people under special surveillance and those arrested under house arrest were subjected to checks. One person was arrested and 10 reported released for various property crimes and drug possession.
