The Vittorio Parklocated in the heart of Lingotto district of Turinhas reopened its doors with a look completely renovated thanks to React-EU PON Metro funds. The inauguration ceremony, held last June 19th, saw the participation of the Mayor Stefano Lo Russoof the councilor for public green spaces Francesco Tresso and of the president of District 8, Massimiliano Miano.

This redevelopment project is part of a larger initiative that involved eight green areas of the city, one for each District, with a total investment of 6.5 million euros. The interventions focused on innovative solutions, inclusive play equipment and measures to combat climate change.

Parco Di Vittorio, a beloved green space in Viale Monti, has seen a expansion of the areas dedicated to games, sports and socialisationenhancing the experience for visitors of all ages. The heart of the renovation is the new water play areawhich transformed an old unused reservoir into a platform with 37 dynamic water features. This area not only provides a refreshing play experience for children, but also helps mitigate the heat island effect.

Around the new play area, street furniture elements such as composite wood solarium, improving opportunities for rest and socialisation. Pedestrian traffic has been optimized with new draining concrete paths and a redeveloped walkway.

In the south-eastern quadrant of the park, new structures for parkour, a fitness area it’s a Ping pong table enrich the sporting offer. The pergola has been renovated and new furnishings as tables, benches, bicycle racks and racks for scooters have been installed.

The interventions on greenery are also significant, with the planburial of 31 new trees, the expansion of the meadow areas and the depaving of part of the asphalted area. In the existing play area, a new tilting carousel and anti-shock flooring were added, along with maintenance work on structures and furnishings. Parco Di Vittorio is ready to welcome citizens with a new, greener and more inclusive face.
