Livorno, 27 June 2024 – The third edition of the “Testa e Lische” Fishing Cup, the sport fishing competition designed for people with disabilities, returns to the Moletto di Ardenza on Saturday 6 July.

The event, organized by the Sport Insieme Livorno APS Association (SIL) and the Circolo della Pesca e della Nautica Ardenza, is aimed in particular at people with spinal injuries and aims to focus attention on the accessibility of ports: “The sea should be within everyone’s reach – write the organizers – but the shape of the coast and the inaccessibility of the ports preclude access for many. With this initiative we want to give many young people the opportunity to get closer to the sea, sport fishing and boating. In this edition we will have more than twenty participants from various provinces of Tuscany”.

Each participant will be hosted on board a vessel with an expert fisherman who will act as a tutor for the entire fishing session. The meeting is set for 07.00 on Saturday 6 July at Moletto di Ardenza, with departure at 08.00. Return scheduled for 12.00 followed by awards ceremony and aperitif/buffet.

The event is sponsored by the Municipality of Livorno and the Tuscany Region.

For info and reservations contact: Stefano 335 7114831 (Moletto di Ardenza) and Claudio 347 3515259 (Sport Insieme Livorno). In case of bad weather the race will be postponed to July 13th.

The organizers:

The Sport Insieme Livorno Association (SIL) was born in the early nineties with the organization of national and international wheelchair tennis tournaments and the creation of a permanent tennis school. For about ten years, SIL has turned its gaze towards the sea with “Accessible Sea”, a series of projects in which our two accessible boats allow you to experience the sea in complete autonomy and safety. Activities such as sport fishing from the boat, sailing courses, SUP, snorkeling are finally accessible even to people with serious disabilities. Other activities practiced by our members are: sailing and hand-biking.

Ardenza Fishing and Nautical Club hosts the event, making the marina accessible. Special thanks to all the members of the pier who will make their boats available, Giorgio di Natale and Stefano Piccini for their help in the organizational phase, there are also: Gruppo Compagnia Portuale Livorno, Reefer srl, Sintermar Spa, Compagnia Impresa Lavoratori Portuale, State police naval section, Michelotti Orthopedics, B.Braun, Nuova Simat, Micron srl, Cantiere Navale, Seajet, Caciaia.
