“All those stab wounds, left there to bleed to death. You can’t forgive something like that,” declared the aunt of the 17-year-old killed last Sunday with dozens of stab wounds in Pescara by two 16-year-old boys, now arrested. “Afterwards they went to the seaside, they had to celebrate for what they had done, for them it was a source of pride” added the woman.

“People who do something like that they cannot be called boys. They are beasts.” it’s the outlet of Thomas’s Aunt’s Angerthe 17 year old killed last Sunday with dozens of stab wounds in Pescara by two 16 year old boys who then walked away from Baden Powell park, leaving him in a pool of blood and going to the seaside as if nothing had happened.

“How can you forgive? Can you forgive two who kill in cold blood, like this? All those stab wounds, left there to bleed to death? You can’t forgive such a person” added the woman reached by the microphones of the correspondent of ‘Estate in diretta’ the afternoon broadcast of Rai 1. “I classify people who do things like this as beasts” added Thomas’ aunt , stating that he did not know the two boys now under investigation for the murder and taken to reception centers in L’Aquila and Rome.

According to what has been reconstructed so far by the police investigations, the murder could be traced back to some credits for drugs, around 250 euros, which one of the 16 year olds boasted to the killed 17 year old. The other boy would have intervened by launching further blows at the 17 year old only because he was a friend of the other attacker but he had not had any argument with the victim. “My nephew didn’t need 200 euros,” however, his aunt maintains.

“A question of respect” and group dynamics: what is behind Thomas’ murder in Pescara

From the story of the young witnesses who attended the meeting that preceded the attack or who spoke with the two suspects after the crime, in reality that debt “had become a question of respect”, a matter that would lead them to arrange the meeting with Thomas to punish him. Juvenile court judges write that the determining cause of action was “the harmful impulse, that of causing suffering and kill a human being, almost to the point of integrating the futile motive.” That is, “the merely apparent and in reality non-existent motive that conceals the only true intent which is to cause suffering and death”.

“Afterwards they went to bathe and dance. They had to celebrate for what they had done, for them it was a source of pride.” is the outburst of the 17-year-old’s aunt who admits: “The worst moment for us will be going to the mortuary. I would take the parents in there to make them understand the feeling they feel seeing their child killed in this way.”
