The ancient mountain pasture has become the welcoming place for those seeking a moment of quiet and serenity among the Valsesian mountains. It opened on Saturday 22 June with a very special event: the baptism of one of the grandchildren Pierangelo Carrara, historic mayor of Boccioleto who died in 2020 who worked so hard to enhance the refuge.
«The Carrara family – explains the superior Sister Samuela Ferrari – decided to baptize this child with us to remember the story of friendship and great care that Pierangelo always had for Solivo. Then the month of July – continues Mother Samuela – will be full for the Grests of the oratories of our diocese, a nice recognition for us too. In the month of August, however, the historic guests who have always spent the August holiday with us will return. We will then close the first week of September.”
To Alpe Solivo on the Solivo Express
At the Solivo di Palancato alp in Val Sermenza, in the municipal area of Boccioleto, you can go up either on foot or on the comfortable rack train (nicely renamed “Solivo Express”) which leaves after the bridge over the Sermenza and reaches the refuge in half an hour. hour of travel.
