While waiting for the passage of the 111th Tour de France, Alessandria Città delle Biciclette, with the patronage and in collaboration with the Municipality, is organizing a great tribute event to Marco Pantani, on Sunday 30 June at Palazzo Monferrato, via San Lorenzo 21. From 3pm: 00, the event will see the opening of the ACdB Museum for the visit to the temporary exhibition “Accoppiata Giro-Tour” which highlights the bicycles of Marco Pantani, Ivan Gotti and Vincenzo Nibali
At 5.00 pm, in the courtyard of Palazzo Monferrato, open party and great celebration to reveal an unpublished work of art, a limited edition art print of the“champion” illustrator Francesco Poroli, recently awarded the gold medal of the Society of Illustrator of NY. This is a celebratory work by the unforgettable Marco Pantani, silk-screen printed in just fifty copies by the Print Club Torino laboratory, with the conception and artistic direction of Inchiostro Festival. The work, from its birth to its creation, will be at the center of an event that transforms the courtyard of Palazzo Monferrato into a silk-screen printing laboratory. At 6.00 pm the event continues with a talk by the writer and journalist Giacomo Pellizzari will present his book “The Pirate’s Map” (Cairo Editore, 2024) telling this “Sentimental Guide to the places of Pantani”, for an encounter with cycling literature. The event will be followed by a copy-signing session and aperitif at the nearby Andando e Stando bookshop in via Bissati.

5:00 pm Inchiostro Festival opening party and presentation of the limited edition art print illustrated by Francesco Poroli
6:00 pm presentation with the author Giacomo Pellizzari of the book “La mappa del Pirata” (Cairo Editore, 2024). Followed by a book signing and aperitif with the author in collaboration with the Andando e Stando bookshop in Alessandria, a few steps from Palazzo Monferrato.
