For the special five year anniversary – explains Nissim – we have chosen to involve only artists under 35, who are demonstrating great enthusiasm and participation, both in the implementation of the interventions and in the relationship with the territory and local communities. The large network of human and professional relationships that has been created over time around Una Boccata d’Arte is surprising, thanks to the precious contribution of artists, curators, mayors, local administrations and citizens. The many works that have been permanently welcomed by the villages are the result of this successful synergy. This year too Una Boccata d’Arte will leave its mark with its ability to involve inhabitants and the public and create connections around the 20 projects.

Emanuele Marullo’s speech in Poggiorsini

The village of Poggiorsini (BA), in Puglia, hosts the intervention The sons of Aphelio of the artist Emanuele Marullo (Catania, 1989). Coordinated by VOGA Art Project and created with the support of PwCthe project goes beyond traditional hierarchical binomials, such as self/other and centre/peripheryweaving local and universal stories into one synthesis of matter and light.

The sons of Aphelio – says the artist – it is a mythological image that recalls a cosmic place: the orbital point furthest from the Sun. At the same time, it is a gaze placed on a very close, earthly and vital horizon”.

Thanks to the acquisitions of the administrations and the donations of the artists, many works have become permanent in the villages, as evidenced by the dedicated section of the Una Boccata d’Arte website, an interactive map complete with in-depth information.
