U20 World Cup: Video of Italy’s goal against Ireland
Italy’s debut at the U20 World Cup is not the easiest. In the opening match of Pool B, at the DHL Stadium in Cape Town, Roberto Santamaria’s boys have to face the fearsome Ireland.
The Azzurrini’s match got off to an uphill start due to hooker Danny Sheahan’s try in the 3rd minute which concluded a team effort by the team in the green jersey.
But Italy is not discouraged and responds three minutes later with an equally beautiful and noteworthy action. Having entered the opponents’ 22, the Azzurrini organize some pick and go well orchestrated by Mattia Jimenez.
Italy’s number 9 sends in Davide Ascari who makes way and keeps possession of the ball. The scrum half decides to open the oval for Martino Pucciarello who moves the game to Mirko Belloni who, with great precision, plays the 2 v 1 for Lorenzo Elettri who ends his run with a try.
