We receive and publish a note signed by Sabino Napolitano (Citizen Commissioner of Fratelli d’Italia Andria) and Gaetano Scamarcio (President of Generazione Catuma):
«We read from the Praetorian Notice Board of the Municipality of Andria, with determination n. 2177 of last 20 June, that for just one evening of performance by the new Andria orchestra, which was held on Saturday 22 June at the Villa Comunale, over 25 thousand euros were spent, a frankly disproportionate figure which demonstrates first of all that this Administration , wherever and whenever he wants, he is able to find economic resources which, due to other more pressing issues, are instead denied. But let’s go in order: as many as 2,200 euros were spent on an alleged social campaign to promote the evening (spending estimate sent only 10 days before the concert on 12 June, therefore on average over 200 euros per day would have been spent to advertise the event on social media evening), 2,100 euros instead for the security technician (but there is a rotation of technicians in Andria, how does the choice of these figures work?). And yet almost 13 thousand euros have been spent on the performance of the 31 members of the orchestra, about whose abilities we do not allow ourselves to say anything, but which also includes relatives of members of the municipal council. We do not understand, among other things, what is the point of spending so much money to advertise an evening, a single evening – there are also over 3 thousand euros for the visibility advertising campaign and the printing of various communication materials – when the performance for the public is it is carried out on one side with a presumed free entry, but on the other side with entry via official invitation, in short, giving space, and a chair, to friends of friends and relatives of relatives. We believe that if this is the calling card of the Andria summer, it does not start with the best auspices. We, in any case, ask for more transparency, more clarity in the rotation of roles and more caution in the choice of public resources to invest. Why, we ask ourselves, if over 25 thousand euros were spent for one evening, why do some councilors say they don’t have, for example, resources to cut the grass in the city? We await explanations from the mayor.”
