«We express great satisfaction for the important result announced by Minister Fitto for obtaining the extension of the Southern Contribution Relief, which was scheduled to expire on 30 June 2024 and which instead the European Commission has extended to 31 December 2024.
A measure of almost vital importance for our businesses, for workers and, more generally, for our entire territory which, also thanks to this favorable taxation, has over the years increased its attractiveness towards investments by large business groups coming from all over the world.
The importance is easily recognizable in the numbers, for the year 2023 alone this measure, which provides for the reduction of 30 percentage points of the social security contributions paid by the company, involved a total of 1,453,444 workers in the eight Regions involved and Puglia with almost 350,000 workers in the year 2023 alone, it is the second Region after Campania for the number of workers affected.
The end of the “Southern Contribution Relief” would have meant a serious blow for our businesses, which would have seen the cost of contributions skyrocket by 30% with very serious consequences, also from a social point of view, with the loss of numerous jobs. This is why we have fought at all the tables and we will continue until this measure stops being “temporary” and instead becomes “structural” and can, in this way, allow entrepreneurs to plan the future of their companies, consequently giving stability to their employees. and at the same time encouraging investments.”
