Design Function Art 2024second edition, is the event dedicated to creativity and design scheduled in Grosseto from 8 to 10 July 2024. A journey into the evolution generated by human ingenuity for the benefit of the common good, curated by Alessandro Corina.
The theme of the event is The beauty of design, together with its comfort and usefulness and with the art of yesterday and today, evolves through emotion and point of view. It is declined through the three fundamental concepts that make up the titleexplored with meetings, exhibitions and initiatives of various kinds.
There Chelliana Municipal Libraryprotagonist of an important urban redevelopment process that has returned this place promoting culture to the community, the Industrial Theatre and the Cathedral of San Lorenzo are the evocative locations of Design Function Art 2024.
The involvement of the libraryreturned to the historic headquarters of Palazzo Mensini in Via Mazzini and opened again for the event, represents an unprecedented opportunity for the Tuscan city to convey shared experiences, sociality and meanings, positively influencing the urban context.
Design Function Art 2024: the concept
The Grosseto event has the fascinating world of design as its fulcrum, exploring the combination of comfort, practicality and iconic innovation. Through a wide range of contemporary furnishings and objects, Design Funzione Arte 2024 highlights the central role of design in our daily lives.
It also highlights how design, thanks to its beauty, practicality and usefulness, can generate an emotion. Through a round table in the Teatro degli Industri and the participation of renowned guests, the public investigates the link between the evolution of design and the human experience exploring new communication avenues.
Finally it is a unique opportunity to explore the union between digital art, the maximum expression of contemporaneity, and sacred artwhich will act as a figurative and real portal to live an immersive experience of an NFT work within the scenographic architecture of the Duomo.
Design Function Art 2024: the events scheduled
Monday 8 July
Design: a journey through aesthetic evocation and practical functionality. Inauguration of the exhibition dedicated to the evolution of seating and small appliances as design objects over the last century (until 21 July).
Round table with Matteo Bazzicalupo and Raffaella Mangiarotti, designers of deepdesign and Smeg, the Angelettiruzza design studio and the designer Alessandro Corina moderated by the journalist Elena Cattaneo (Teatro degli Industri, 6.00 pm).
Tuesday 9 July
Function: The thrill of evolving design and practical beauty. Round table with Paolo Stella, who has defined a new and unexplored way to communicate design. Moderated by Santa Nastro, journalist and deputy director of Artribune, Santa Nastro. An opportunity to delve deeper into the role of design in the evolution of society and to explore new communication avenues (Teatro degli Industri, 6.00 pm).
Wednesday, July 10
Art: the parallel between digital art and sacred art. Exhibition opening Symbiotic by Giuseppe Lo Schiavo in the Grosseto Cathedral, an access portal to the NFT work involving the public in an experiential and sensorial moment; Heaven in the citya format of the Municipality of Grosseto that brings art to the most frequented places of the city. Heroeswork by Giuseppe Gallo proposed by the Hypermaremm association (both until July 21).
Round table with Serena Tabacchi, director and co-founder of the MoCDA-Museum of contemporary digital art in London; Don Paolo Gentili of the Diocese of Grosseto; Carlo Patris of Hypermaremma; Fabio Becherini, director of Banca Tema; Alessandro Corina, designer. Moderated by Giacomo Nicolella Maschietti, journalist specializing in digital art (Banca Tema, Corso Carducci, 6.00 pm).
