Ancona, 26 June 2024 – After yesterday’s sudden coup for the sale of theUs Ancona (“The details of the operation will be made known today”, we read in an amazing note signed by the Malaysian tycoon), Tony Tiong he kept (at least) this promise and, this morning, he officially sold the club to new ownership.
Who is Francesco Agnello, the new president
The closing was held in a notary’s office in Rome: the company, excluded from the C series for non-payment of salaries to members, go to Francesco Agnelloentrepreneur active in the field of distribution of drinks and soft drinks and, from what emerges, also at the head of a holding in the food and mineral water sectors. He is the new president of Ancona.
Born in Torre Annunziata, sixty years old. In the past he had already been linked to other professional clubs such as Salerno (two years ago to be precise and, at the time, it was a concrete interest), but also toAvellinoat the Casternanaat the Regina and, to get to the most recent news, al Barletta.
The statement
The closure of the operation was communicated by the usual Giangrande firm in Milan, which has been looking after Tiong’s interests since the situation exploded on June 4th, and therefore by the lawyers Stefano Giangrande, Simone Riva and Niccolò Cortelazzi: “In the name and account of Mr. Tony Tiong, we inform you that today’s morning, at the notary Lauro Gallori in Rome, the closing of the operation for the transfer of control of the company Us Ancona Srl was held, with the assistance on the buyer side of Studio Galoppi & Partners together with the advisor Dr. Marsella and on the seller side the writer together with the firms Ontier Italia and Olg and the accountant Dr. Ripa”, was read in the press release. And again: “The new ownership of the company Us Ancona Srl is represented by the entrepreneur Dr. Francesco Agnello and communicates that, by the beginning of next week, the new corporate positions will be formalizedthe organizational chart and the sports project”.
The unknowns
Now this surprise move could shuffle the cards but, it is clear to most, that the only Ancona that would be legitimized is the new one. And that is – after the imprimatur of the president of the Football Federation Gabriele Gravina to the mayor Daniele Silvettiwith which the possibility is recognized for the capital of the Marche region to enroll a football player from scratch in an amateur championship – in fact the Ancona today of Agnello and before Tiong would not have at all ensured participation in the championships, called to face a debt situation around to the 2 million euros which was not mentioned in the press release, in the same way as the figures for the operation.
The future
Here the mayor, despite a illness which determined a unexpected hospitalization in the hospital and the subsequent reassurances given personally, continues in winding road to Serie D, with a new company. Yesterday the expression of interest was published (valid until July 1st): 400 thousand euros are needed by July 4th.
