UlisseFest arrives in Ancona and launches the tourist season

The UlisseFest and his first year in Ancona. The famous format that from 4 to 7 July unites travellers, fascinates wayfarers and pushes explorers towards new destinations, touches the regional capital launching the tourist season, showcasing the most beautiful views, the most recognizable monuments, the sunrises and sunsets to be immortalized and re-shared on social profiles of well-known influencers, Igers Italia is media partner. Tours have been organized specifically for them to promote the city, its sea and its identifying features. From our navy, to the exit of the fishing boats, from the collection of the mussel par excellence, the mussel, to the Conero coast. But not only. Tours will also be organized for visitors in the historic part of the city and they will have lunch with our typical dishes, from guazzetto to Anconetana stockfish.

The launch of the Ancona brand therefore begins here, the capital of the Conero. The insights, stories, talks and shows that have contributed to the creation of a program to pay tribute to the city, to increase the sense of belonging and to promise to return to those who visit it for the first time. And this is precisely the meaning of the Arena sul Mare, a structure that will host the flagship events of UlisseFest. The modular structure will have two different capacity options: 1,380 seated seats or 2,000 standing. Positioned immediately after the Fontana dei Due Soli, in a large space extraordinarily granted by the Port Authority, with the 13 meter stage, which will be placed with its back to the fire station.

“We worked on this collaboration with Lonely Planet with enthusiasm from the beginning – states the Tourism Councilor, Daniele Berardinelli – knowing full well that it would be a unique opportunity for us to anticipate and improve our tourism and territorial valorisation strategy. Having the UlisseFest, in addition to the undeniable importance of the event itself and of other events held in collaboration, means being able to show what nature has given us, it means being able to make ourselves known, disseminate our reception system which is increasingly enriched , means getting noticed, facilitating our trade and increasing visits, making use of the experience of those who have made tourism and its promotion a profession, recognized as excellent throughout the world”.

The councilor for Major Events, Angelo Eliantonio, is of the same opinion. “This initiative keeps pace with a trend that began last year and which we are continuing to increase with new initiatives. This department was born with this aim: to welcome major initiatives, where possible to have previews, in short, events that can leave a mark. With the experimentation of the Arena on the sea, thanks to the agreement with the Port System Authority, we demonstrate that collaboration and common work are the basis of a city that wants to conquer a space for itself”.

“The first Ancona edition of our travel festival offers a much richer program than what was agreed at the time with the Municipality and Ancona Servizi: an extra day and two preview days (in addition to the May evening with D’Avenia ) which are already sold out. It is the sign of our desire to build something lasting in a place where there is space for a proposal that combines in-depth analysis and entertainment. We have distributed the meetings and performances in around ten locations in the city to offer the public arriving from elsewhere the opportunity to get to know Ancona and its people. Now all you have to do is choose from the 50 appointments, book and join the party.” comments the artistic director Angelo Pittro.
