The Tarantini Parents Association writes this regarding the ruling of the European Court of Justice according to which the former Ilva plants must be suspended if they are harmful to health and the environment. The intervention of the European judges was requested by the Milan court called to decide on the lawsuit brought by a group of inhabitants of the area surrounding the steel plant against the continuation of the activity of the former Ilva.
“This sentence – continues the association – allows the Milan court to reopen the injunction action presented by us to bring it to a conclusion, scrupulously adhering to what has been decided by the Court of Justice of the European Union”. «The children of Taranto want to live, and this is the right time. Let politicians (except Rosa D’Amato, the only one who has committed herself to this cause) – concludes the association – dare not take ownership of this result, starting with the mayor of Taranto who never responded to our request to support the injunction action . Whoever of them should try, know that he will be publicly proven wrong.”
