Limosano in shock at the tragic end of Thomas Christopher

He had escaped on Friday from a community for minors in Limosano but, upon arriving in Pescara, he was brutally killed. Even the citizens of the Molise town are in shock over the death of Thomas Christopher Luciani, the 17-year-old killed with 25 stab wounds in a park in Pescara. Mayor Angela Amoroso said she was saddened by the disappearance of the boy who everyone knew in Limosano. The young man, resident in Rosciano, a town in the Pescara area where he had lived from the age of three with his grandmother after being abandoned by his parents, had arrived in Molise some time ago. When he disappeared without a trace on Friday evening, a complaint was immediately made to the police. Unfortunately, however, the epilogue was tragic. According to what was reconstructed by the investigators, it was a 15-year-old son (like one of those arrested) of a policeman who raised the alarm and allowed the discovery of the 17-year-old’s body. It is the latest detail on the affair (as reported by Il Fatto Quotidiano) which led to the arrest, on charges of murder, of two minors: one is the son of a lawyer and the other, also, of a soldier of the Weapon. The witness, a few hours after the events, having understood the gravity of the incident, told the details of the crime first to his family and then to the investigators, as emerges from the arrest decree.
One of the boys (who “sold hashish”) – around 3.40pm on Sunday – allegedly told the group of friends that he “wanted to give Luciani a couple of slaps” for an alleged drug debt of a few hundred euros: perhaps 200 or 300. But something completely different happens in the park. One of the young people arrested would have stabbed the 17-year-old with 15 blows, then the other (“because they were friends”, says the witness) would have grabbed the diving knife and hit the victim 10 more times: the two, it emerges from the reconstruction, continue to hitting him – between kicks and spitting – when he is already lifeless on the ground. The victim, the story continues, “was making noises: he was almost dead and they told him to shut up.”
The witness says he was unable to intervene because he was “shocked”: “I wanted to stop them but I didn’t know how.” He and 5 other boys would have thus moved away: then together with the two arrested they would have gone to the seaside for a swim. There, on the rocks, the murder weapon would have been thrown inside a bloody sock. But, at the moment, the fire brigade divers have not yet found the knife. A few hours later the 16-year-old spoke to his family and his father raised the alarm.
A ruthless murder with drug dealing in the background. The arrested boys, both high school students, did not show any emotions during the first interrogation: no particular reaction and absence of empathy or repentance. One of them said he had never met the victim, but only knew who he was. I am detained in a first reception center awaiting the validation hearing. The investigation is now in the hands of the L’Aquila Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office.
