The dawn show at Ercolano Park

The spectacle of dawn – Inventions for three voices, is the event not to be missed 29 June at the Archaeological Park of Herculaneum with performances on 20 July and 31 August, an original production CoopCulture, which until August will animate some of the historical, artistic and archaeological wonders of Italy. Herculaneum is the first archaeological park to become the setting for a journey between archeology and sound, in a crescendo of emotions that unites monuments, nature and territory, presenting the place in a completely new way at the first light of the morning. Music will become the underlying theme of an evocative experience, expressed in a narrative that crosses eras and cultures, telling stories of grandeur and drama and blending with the grandiose archaeological landscape. The musical program embraces a vast repertoire, from the music of Roberto De Simone, Benjamin Britten. WA Mozart, Gabriel Fauré, Jansug Kakhidze and songs from the popular Campania, Sardinian and Portuguese traditions, interpreted by the voice of Marina Bruno, Enzo Pietropaoli on the double bass and Daniele Sepe on the saxophone.

“We are the only archaeological site to offer this possibility in Campania and among the very few in all of Italy. We love Herculaneum and this place is loved at all hours. Imagine the emotion of witnessing the sun rise in one of the most evocative and history-rich places in the Mediterranean” declares the director of the Archaeological Park Francesco Sirano “Imagine walking at dawn along those same streets that two thousand years ago had already been teeming with life for a few hours. Experiencing a place like this accompanied by the music and scents of the early morning will enrich your memory with a unique memory.”

A multisensory experience that blends the magic of dawn with the evocative power of music across centuries of history and cultures. The narration of archaeologists and art historians alternates with musical notes and voices that will accompany the visitor on a sound journey across the Mediterranean, to distant places and eras. The music, carefully selected for each performance, awakens attention to art and archaeology, enhancing every detail of the natural scenography.

Set the alarm and treat yourself to an extraordinary experience with “The spectacle of dawn” which combines art, history and music.
