Milan, 26 June. (askanews) – The discussion of a motion on the alleged debts of Ilaria Salis with Aler, the Lombardy regional company for public residential construction, has provoked a harsh clash in the Lombardy Regional Council between the majority and the opposition. The text, presented by Fdi councilor Marcello Ventura, commits the council to urge Aler to initiate legal procedures for the recovery of the alleged credit accumulated by the current Avs MEP for the occupation of public housing, up to the possible seizure of the accounts currents.

The discussion immediately became heated, in particular after the interventions of the opposition councilors Onorio Rosati (Avs) and Nicola Di Marco (M5s). Salis “represents the Italian people in a Parliament in which she is legitimately called to change the laws, not to incite people to break them” then underlined the councilor for the House Paolo Franco, referring to an intervention by the MEP on social media. “Whoever persists in those positions of apology for illegality will find a Region that is on the side of legality and honest citizens” added the councilor. Rosati then reiterated that the motion is “absolutely wrong and instrumental” and “the The progress of the debate seems to me to confirm these statements of mine.” Finally, the Avs representative spoke of a “dossier” against Salis on the Aler data concerning her, which “creates a very serious precedent”.
